Businesses that rely on water are holding an emergency meeting with the Mbabane city council to discuss the worsening drought that is gripping the city.
City spokesperson Gugulethu Hlophe says the emergency meeting will address among other concerns hygiene standards especially in the foot sector.
The drought is expected to affect the schedule for the opening of schools next Tuesday. School principals have expressed health concerns when large numbers of students converge on schools that have no water.
The chairman of the Swaziland Contractors Association Dan Dlamini even says the industry will suffer the most as they cannot build without water.
